Best Quora alternative sites

The user interface of the question-and-answer site Quora hasn’t changed a lot in the last few years but the site has got some annoying features. For example, you will often come across content locker on the pages of Quora. You must purchase a subscription plan to see the locked content.

One of the latest features of the question-and-answer site is “groups”. The groups on Quora are known as spaces. They are moderated and there’s no guarantee that the person moderating the space will approve your post.

Quora has many personal questions and opinions. I often come across questions such as “what is your in-hand salary?”, “What is the weirdest thing you’ve seen?” on it. The site may motivate you at times but it can also demotivate you, especially if you’re not doing well in professional life and you come across personal answers. Many people on Quora think that they’re experts in many topics. They will share their opinion everywhere on the site. If you don’t like Quora because of the reasons I’ve shared above or for any other reason, use the following websites.

Top Quora alternatives

Reddit

Reddit

Reddit is the ultimate place to get an answer to any question. This site has tens of thousands of communities called subreddits. You must submit your question in an appropriate subreddit. For example, if your query is related to workouts, you must join and post the query in the community workouts. The website has a search option that you can use to find profiles, communities, posts, etc. If your query is related to technology, there is a good chance that the query may have already been answered by a Reddit user. Thus, use the search option before joining any group. As on Quora, answers on this site are accompanied by a rating system (upvote/downvote).

Stack Exchange sites

StackExchange

Stack Exchange and its sister sites i.e. Superuser, AskUbuntu, and Stack Overflow are great alternatives to Quora. Stack Overflow has millions of answers and thousands of questions related to programming. Stack Exchange website has several subdomains. For example, if you want to ask Grammar related question, open english.stackexchange.com and to post a WordPress query, open wordpress.stackexchange.com. On AskUbuntu, you will find queries related to Linux.

Bing Chat

Microsoft Bing chat

Microsoft Bing is now integrated with ChatGPT. Getting started with the ChatGPT enabled BING is easy. Open the search engine and click the “chat” link menu. You’ll now see a form containing a large text box. You must enter your query in this box and press the enter button on the keyboard. The tool will take a few seconds to analyze your question and share an answer. If you want more details or information, type “I need more information” in the box and press the keyboard’s enter key. You can ask as many questions to Bing Chat. You’ll get an answer most of the time. The tool doesn’t answer personal queries.

Google

Google

Google, the most popular search engine, can be used for various tasks. For example, you can use it to find answers to all sorts of questions. Google indexes URLs and presents them when the content on the HTML page matches the query the user has entered in the search box. Bloggers share tips and helpful articles on their websites. They submit the sitemap of their site to Google which in turn will index the pages. The search engine will rank the pages that have good content only (one which is written by experts). Unlike Bing Chat which shows a single answer, Google displays up to 10 results at a time. Your answer will be present in all the results displayed by the search engine. It is up to you to decide which one is the best. You will usually come across web pages laden with advertisements while using Google.

DuckDuckGo

DuckDuckGo

DuckDuckGo claims to be a private search engine. It doesn’t track your search history or ask you to enter personal information. It doesn’t have advertisements as well. Use DDG if you want to use a search engine anonymously. Like Google, DuckDuckGo presents web pages as search results. Unlike Google, which crawls and indexes websites, DDG uses Bing, Yandex, Wikipedia data to generate the search results. DDG doesn’t have ads but the page the browser opens when you click a result may have one.
