Whether it is ICICI or any other bank, it is very important to update your details every time it changes. If you don’t do so, you may miss out on an interesting offer nor will you receive updates whenever someone transfers money to your account or your spouse, child, etc withdraws funds. Likewise, if your email address is invalid or nonexistent, you will not get the bank or credit card statement as most of the banks have switched to digital statement instead of sending physical one to the customers postal/communication address. You will also not be able to use the UPI applications as they check whether the phone number is linked to the bank account or not.
Updating details on the website
Sign in to your ICICI Bank account and choose the “personal details” sub menu of the menu “Overview”. Now you will see various details of your account and link called “update”. To update a specific detail, click on the “update” option beside it. For example, to change the registered email address, click “update” link displayed to the right side of your old email ID.
When you do so, ICICI Bank website will open a new page where you will find a form with three check boxes – All bank accounts, credit card, both. You will also find a textbox to enter a new mail ID. After entering the same, click the submit button. ICICI Bank will not prompt you to enter an OTP sent to your inbox and some grid numbers displayed at the back side of your debit/credit card.
If you see this error “We are unable to fetch your debit card details at the moment. Please try again after sometime.”, use the iMobile application to change your email ID, address, and other details.
It is impossible to change the ICICI bank registered phone number online. To do the same, you must visit a nearby ICICI branch or ATM. Don’t forget to carry your debit card if you visit the ATM.
Updating details using iMobile
After installing and activating iMobile, sign in to your account. You will see a bar with these options – Me, Call Us, Scan Any QR, Discover, and Services. Tap the services option and select “update profile” from the new interface displayed by the application.
ICICI Bank iMobile will now show your customer ID and account number. It will also display a checkbox on the left side of the ID. Select this checkbox and tap on the “proceed to update” button.
iMobile will now show a wizard with four parts. Each part has different fields. For example, from the 1st part, you can change/update your occupation, sub occupation, education, gross annual income, and business source. Once you modify the details, tap the “confirm” button.
To update the ICICI Bank credit card email ID, tap on “cards & forex” option on the main interface and choose your CC displayed in the list. Now tap the “manage card” tab, scroll down and choose the “update email ID” option. Now enter your ID, choose the request type (permanent or home) and then click on the “submit” button.
Unlike the website which prompts you to enter the grid numbers displayed at the back side of the debit card to confirm your account, you won’t be asked to do the same if you update the email ID of your credit card with the iMobile application.
What details can you update on the iCICI website and app? The bank allows users to change these details – PAN card number, nominee, and communication address. As mentioned earlier, you cannot change the phone number online. You should visit a nearby ICICI ATM of the bank or its branch to do the same.
