iMobile is a mobile banking application of one of the leading Indian banks, ICICI. Although the app is large (size greater than 100 megabytes), it is a one stop solution for everything you want to do with your ICICI bank account i.e. You can transfer funds, pay bills, apply for loans, add beneficiaries, see new offers, etc. You can also update your details and see the relationship manager’s account number with it.
iMobile is a must have app on the phones of ICICI bank customers. If you’ve already installed on your device but iMobile isn’t working for some reason, do the following things:
Reactivate: If you’ve changed the SIM card or had inserted another SIM in your phone and had run iMobile, it may not work. Why is this so? One of the first things the banking applications do when you run them is check if the SIM the user had used to activate the app is the same or not. If it fails to detect the same, the application will never work. You can fix this problem by updating your phone number with the bank if you’ve changed your contact number and reactivate iMobile.
Update: For security reasons, banking applications may not work if their newer version is available and you’ve not updated them for a long time. For example, if the current version of an app is 1.1 and you’re running version 0.6 which was released way bank in 2018, the app may throw errors or may not function. Likewise, the bank’s website may not work if you’ve opened it in a very old browser or a browser which hasn’t been updated for years.
To see if you’re using the latest edition of iMobile, open the Google Play Store, tap on your profile icon, choose the option “manage apps and device” and check if a newer version of iMobile is available or not by clicking on the “updates” option. You can also see the same on iMobile’s official page on the Google Play Store. To do so, search for the application in any search engine of your choice on your phone and click on the Play Store link that appears in the search result. If iMobile is outdated, you’ll see a button with the label “update”.
Uninstall and re-install: When you uninstall any APK from the phone, the files the APK had generated or stored on your device are deleted. When you install an APK, the package will store or generate new files on the device. If an application reads a file frequently and this file has been corrupted or removed, the app may not work. Thus, if the above methods don’t fix the problem, reinstall and install iMobile.
Check mobile data: Telecom operators in India allot 1, 1.5, 2, or 3GB GB of data to the user every day. If you’ve used the entire data, iMobile or any other service that requires internet access will not work. Thus, check how much data you’ve used. If you’ve consumed the entire day’s data, either recharge your phone number with the data pack or wait for the time at which your operator will reset the internet quota.
